Parent/Child Dedication
What a wonderful privilege and blessing it is to be a parent. God has entrusted you with a new life -- one that will live eternally. With this in mind, I want to take a moment and share with you the purpose of the Parent/Child Dedication Service at Oak Hill.
Deuteronomy 6:7-9 commands parents to teach their children the truths of God as a part of daily living. II Timothy 3:15 verifies the importance of teaching children these truths beginning at an early age. By participating in the Parent/Child Dedication, you are dedicating yourself to rear your child under the principles of the Bible and to teach your child the truths of God. This type of rearing will come as a direct result of your personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. You are also acknowledging that the child ultimately belongs to God and that He has a purpose and plan for that new life.
Parent/Child Dedications are not related to salvation and eternal life in heaven or to making yourself or your child a member of Oak Hill. However, should you have questions about living eternally in heaven, please feel free to contact anyone in the Oak Hill Offices at (770) 227-5974.
